"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

I'm sorry for you're Photoshop "problems" i searched around Google but i didn't find any tool to remove the backdrop...... Maybe send a request to Adobe for a transperent backdrop in cs4 for windows
I just read you ask about my photoshop cs3. I saw on you're profile that you are an XP user. If you use a windows operating system you can't remove the grey backdrop from photosop.
I'm a Mac user and like many programs for Mac there is no grey background.
So if you would photoshop cs3 without a grey background you have to buy a Mac.
Ps: Nice photo's in you're galery and you've a nice website!
